Welcome to this the first edition of the GCS e-newsletter. Over the past months we have been working with parent representatives, and our central office marketing team, to streamline our communication systems so that you and our wider community are better informed about the wonderful things which happen in school.
From now on we will email you this e-newsletter and the end of each calendar month while school is in session. You will find articles from across both primary and secondary as well as information on whole school events. Regular features will appear on our sporting and performing arts achievements as well as new initiatives such as our STEAM programme, Expo 2020 links and general outreach. In future editions you will hear from our student leadership groups and Greenfield Community Parents (GCP) as well as receive informative updates on K-12 events such as pink day, book week, green day, International day and similar whole school celebrations.
In the next few months we hope to launch our new website which will be a central portal for all major community news and our key central information hub. Our D6 communicator has been updated and you should be receiving regular updates on a weekly events. We have now uploaded our annual calendar onto the D6 so you can see all the major school events and important dates in one place. For those parents using our social media channels we will post live updates on Facebook, Instagram and Twitter on a regular basis. If you do not have access to the D6 yet please contact our parent relations officer Tatiana Efremova at email@example.com
In this edition we are excited to introduce our new House System which was a wonderful initiative driven by our Senior Student Leadership group. You will also see articles on our new performing arts initiative and partnership with Dubai Performing Arts Company (DPA), Childhood Obesity Awareness Month events, Provocation activities for Grade 5 students, Grade 3 and 4 field trips and other exciting things happening in the school.
Once again I want to thank you all for a great start to the school year and say how wonderful it has been to see everyone at our back to school nights.
Dr Allan Weston
