Amazing success for Go Karting enthusiast, Alex Renner

We all like to have big dreams, and Grade 5 student, Alex Renner, is no exception.  But do our hopes and dreams ever come to fruition?  Well – sometimes – but real success requires focus, passion and a lot of hard work.  We are happy to report that Alex is well on the way making his dream of becoming a motor sport champion come true!

Alex is a keen go karting enthusiast and has notched up some very impressive wins this season.  We first featured his sporting journey at the start of the racing season in an earlier blog article – and now it is time to share an update on his incredible progress.  As well as working hard on his school studies, Alex has given up many of his weekends to hone his driving skills on the motor race track and compete in national events.  It is not easy to juggle school work with his competitive sporting life, but with the support and encouragement of his proud parents, Alex Renner,  Antje Knoll-Renner, and Ms Lubna Khawaja, his Homeroom teacher, Alex has done an amazing job.

Over the past months Alex has competed in national regional races in Al Ain, Muscat, Yas Marina on the world-renowned Abu Dhabi F1 circuit, Al Forsan, which is also in Abu Dhabi, and even the Muscat race in Oman.

And so to the update.  Alex has fantastic news to share . . . drum roll . . . he has now received his trophy for becoming the Vice Champion of the 2017/18 season.

Most exciting of all, during the award ceremony he learned that he had also qualified to represent the UAE in the Rotax Max World Finals Championship in Brazil this coming November.

He also qualified to participate in the international finals for another race series, SWS, in Venice, Italy.  This race is taking place mid June and Alex is also representing the UAE; he was selected for the team because of his dedication and go karting achievements this past season.  Alex will be travelling to Italy with the racing team, but without his family, which is a brave adventure for a 10 year old.

Alex has a very active social media account to document his journey and achievements.  He would love to have even more supporters and followers, and perhaps raise more sponsorship money to help grow his talents.  Check out his Instagram for more news.

In the meantime, GCS wishes Alex all the best in Italy and Brazil and look forward to sharing more of his news in the coming season.
